“But there’s a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother’s story, because hers is where yours begin.”
– Mitch Albom
I don’t think I ever realized how much my mother loved me until I had children of my own. To be a mother is a feeling like no other. No one can describe it precisely nor feel anything close to it without actually going through it. It’s magical, nerve wrecking, exciting, joyous and so many other emotions wrapped up into a tiny heart. I do a fair share of mini events each year but none are quite so special as my Mother’s Day Minis. It’s that one time each year that mommies lose the yoga pants and pony tails, put down the camera and come to me to capture the special bond they have with their children. Some daddies also joined in this year.
This year I wanted something special but simple for these amazing women. So, I called Liz from Mi Vintage Rental Company and went to work with the set. My one regret about the set this year is my babies and I couldn’t take pictures in it 🙁 I had the vision of a little girl playing makeup/dressup in front of her mommy’s vanity and then thought of my princess, but due to the schedule and the fact that the set was rented, I couldn’t drag my little monsters out. It’s ok though, because I did do a session with them and daddy elsewhere with another photog on another date.
Anyway, without further delay, here are the sneak peeks from Day 1 of Mother’s Day Minis (April 27th).
Thank you to you amazing, inspirational and loving mommies for all that you do for your babies!
The Molina family! So, this fella was a TROOPER! He had a a few days of um… no pooping and of course he decided to go right before the session. Poor thing had to endure the session with his poopy diaper but he was an amazing little dude.
The Arguello Family! When I saw that they had two girls, I knew my vision would become a reality with the set. We played dress up and I was thrilled to see it come to life!
Liam! Oh, Liam, Liam, Liam. One day you’re going to break some serious hearts. I’ve grown to love this little guy. I’ve seen him so much in the past year. His mom and daddy are beyond amazing. His beautiful momma and grandma came and brought me cafecito and water to the session. I’m seriously super lucky to have met this family!
The Herrera Family! Mom, Dad and the grandmas came to play with their little princess. She LOVED the jewelry so much, she didn’t want to let it go. Poor thing had to go home without it, but she was a doll.
Amanda, Aleena and Ailleen! Another one of my amazing regulars. They get so excited when they come to see me and so do I when I see them arrive. The girls are a trip and you can tell they have SOOOO much fun with each other at home. Mommy asked me if she could bring some personal things and I said of course, not knowing what she had in mind. She arrived with a box of baby items of her girls. I nearly melted!
Caterin and Austin! Seriously, I’m not sure he can get any cuter! He’s a ham and his thighs are beyond delicious. He’s ALWAYS happy and never hesitates to give me a smile. I met Austin when he was still in Mommy’s belly.
Perez Family! This is the first time I met Sheyla and her family and they are too sweet. Their stud has an infectious smile and gives his mommy the sweetest looks!
Celine and Lui! Another little dude I met in the womb LOL His eyes, oh my his eyes! They are so bold and so full of emotion. Mommy is in serious trouble saying no.
Prieto Family! Poor mom left her stud’s shirt at home when she was almost at the park and had to turn around to get it. Luckily, the last three sessions swaped all over and we were able to get them in and I’m so happy we did. They have such an amazing and loving bond and he’s turning into such a young man.
Monica, Rachel and Alyssa! Seriously, I love these ladies! They rock, they are super sweet and whenever I need ANYTHING, mom is always SUPER willing to help. She ADORES her girls and they adore her right back. Rachel is about as spunky as they come and Alyssa is the happiest of all chunky little cuteness there is.
Last but not least for Saturday’s minis, Maria, Eleni & Fam! These boys are CRAZY! I mean, CRAZY! I know when they arrive, I have to be on my A game because they have WAY too much energy. I’m not sure how mommy does it, but the boys are super sweet, fun and hysterical to say the least. They always provide some amazing memories and fun moments, and of course, great pics!
Hope you all enjoyed this sneak peeks. Be on the lookout for the April 28th minis blog post and for those of you that participated, a BIG THANK YOU!!!!
