I’ve always dreamed of having a little girl and one day taking pictures and dressing her up as a princess at Magic Kingdom. I never dreamed that I would be the one taking those photos and experiencing all the sweet and crazy moments with her.
My cutie’s 2nd birthday is coming up in August and I wanted to theme her party of either Cinderella or a few Disney Princesses. I knew my husband would not be excited about doing a session of her in Disney and my parents aren’t as quick as I need them to be so I called up my niece, Kailey’s godmother, and my cousin for the job. They are annual and seasonal pass holders like me so getting them to come along was a no brainer. After really analyzing it, we decided to do the session two months early to avoid the summer crowds once school was out. We did a two night trip to get these photos done and I was so happy that we were able to get all 4 princess outfits done during one day and within a 3 hour window.
We were LUCKY that the day we arrived was super overcast. I shot all of the princess images from noon – 3 p.m, with lunch in between. I typically would never shoot at this time but knew that if I didn’t take advantage of the overcast skies, we may have been melting the following day. I’m so glad we did push through all the outfits and props because the following day was HOT and SUNNY!
I also worked with some amazing vendors from Etsy that not only provided me with some amazing outfits, but did it on such quick turn around times for me. Thank you, dolls!
Cinderella and Belle Dress: Prima Fashions
Belle Peasant Dress: Kiki’s Things
Cinderella Peasant Apron: Queen Elizabeth Aprons
Fairy God Mother Cape: Fairy Godmother 4 Hire
Well, let’s begin Kailey’s story… Once upon a time (hee hee)…
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, yes I happily walked into the park with all the props you see LOL
So the following pictures with the stepmom were not planned. We were walking to the bathroom and my niece spotted her and I was so happy she decided to play along! You can tell in one of them she couldn’t hold back her laughter! So awesome!
Bippidy, Boppidy, BOO!!!
This may be my favorite picture from that day 🙂
This one is a favorite too! 🙂
Clearly she was done with Cinderella as you can see from her face below 😉
After the Cinderella outfits, we were STARVING! We had just driven 3 and a half hours with a crazy toddler in the car and started with the photos. We made it in the nick of time to have lunch in the Beast’s castle and were blessed with timing. As you will see from the photos below we lucked out that we were on the inside of the castle during the transition of lunch to dinner so we had the entrance, castle and hallway all to ourselves, not something easily accomplished in Disney!
Fun fact, I brought the books which are daddy’s. I wanted authentic books, but colorful princess ones, so if you look closely, you will notice all the books are by John Grisham, daddy’s favorite author 🙂
The following pictures were shot before the outfit above since we were already in the castle for lunch, but of course I have to keep the story line authentic 😉
Below you will find her “Are we done yet?” face! Yes, honey, the rest is fun now 🙂
I hope you all enjoyed my princess’ session. However, I though it would be fun to include some behind the scenes shots and some other shots from the rest of the vacay.
Thanks to Pia and Suzy, they taught Kailey that when she sees a phone, it’s time for a “Selfie” and this is the face they taught her to do LOL
The following pic is BEYOND unflattering but it shows how much hard park a parent and in this case the photog as well as to undergo during a session. Parents don’t you feel the same way after your kids’ sessions? LOL 😉
Pia wanted that dress to fit her SOOOO badly LOL
We went to visit Cinderella and needless to say, Kailey wasn’t a huge fan LOL
But she warmed up to her, sort of.
After our photo session, we decided to go back to the room we had yet to check in to. We were POOPED! I was so happy to arrive and find a few birthday surprises from my hubby in the room 🙂 My birthday was the last day of the trip.
Do you see how tired they were?
Another fun fact about my daughter in case you haven’t noticed yet, she’s not that big of a fan of characters LOL, especially the classic ones.
After a fun dinner at Chef Mickey’s, it was time to go to bed and get ready for another day in Disney, this time just for fun. Of course, we had to sneak in some pics 😉
Lunch at The Crystal Palace!
Again, not a fan!
Who knew water could be so fun!
I had to take a pic of my magic band with the new accessories.
I’ve actually been to Disney a few times since the new parade was released but never had the chance to see it, so we decided to get Fast Passes for it this time around and LOVED it!
It was WAY too hot that day so we headed back to the room and had some chocolate and snacks.
Kailey and I ended the day with a dip in the pool and water area 🙂
At night, we went to the top floor of our hotel and viewed the fireworks. PERFECTION! I had such a magical time and created some memories I will never, ever forget! I hope you all enjoyed these.
See you real soon!
