This “session” has been a long time coming. My son’s birthday was in March and every time I would schedule to do these photos, it would either rain, someone (including myself) was sick, or whatever else life threw our way happened. For my son’s 5th birthday last year I wasn’t able to do formal photos for him because I had just given birth to my youngest. I made an extra effort this year to make it happen.
I also never got the chance to take photos of the baby in the vintage piece you will see towards the end. The date I originally scheduled for her outdoor session last was colder than normal and in her more covered up outfit she was miserable so I knew a sleeveless dress was only going to make her even more miserable.
I had the outfits packed up that day, picked up my son from school, packed up the baby and my mom (my helper for the day) into the car and went to pick up my 3 year old daughter from daycare. As soon as I saw her I knew she wasn’t feeling well. When we arrived at the park, I took her temperature only to find out she had almost 103 fever. I can’t believe how unbelievably well she did for the photos since I knew she was miserable and kept asking for hugs every few minutes. I didn’t push her past the one outfit and took just a few photos of her.
I typically end up super frustrated and disappointed after I take photos of my own kids (LOL) but this time around I knew they did great. Here are just a few of my favorites that will be featured as canvas prints at my home soon. Enjoy! 😉
I had to include both the color and black and white version of the following photo because I couldn’t decide which on I liked more! ::swoon::
